ABOUT THE WEBINAR

The effective and participatory implementation of climate agendas (particularly NDCs) and environmental sustainability (Sustainable Development Goals – SDGs and Regional Negotiation on access rights in environmental issues – P10) in the region are of utmost importance since they will determine the successful development of measures to move towards a low emission and climate resilient development.

In this context, the aforementioned consortium is developing a diagnosis that seeks to identify best practices of engagement in five levels (information, dialogue, consultation, collaboration and partnership) among governments, and civil society in seven countries of the region (Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Mexico, Peru and Jamaica) with a view to generating recommendations for strengthening and improving these climate and environmental sustainability agendas.

Specifically, this webinar will present the relationship practices identified for the Jamaican case and it is expected that through the presentation and dialogue with key stakeholders on climate change and national environmental sustainability, the identified national practices can be enriched, improved and complemented.

GOALS

1. Present the main practices identified so far on the relationship between government, and civil society for the implementation of climate change and environmental sustainability agendas in Jamaica.
