Public consultation for the new Access to Information policy: IDB ends stage of virtual meetings with more than 9 thousand CSOs convened in 26 countries

The IDB launched its public consultation process for its proposed new Access to Information Policy on August 29, reaffirming its commitment to transparency to strengthen its corporate governance and enhance accountability.

Hundreds of inputs have been received, reaching the highest standards of inclusion and diversity both geographically and in terms of organizational profiles throughout Latin America and the Caribbean.

The awareness dialogues were attended by representatives of indigenous peoples, Afro-descendants, peasants, LGTIQ+ organizations and women’s groups (Awareness dialogue in Spanish 22-09).

The public consultation process remains open. The IDB will continue with a series of face-to-face exchanges with representatives of local and regional organizations. These will take place in Costa Rica (25-10), Jamaica (3-11), Colombia (9-11), Uruguay (15-11) and the United States (5-12).

 

In addition, the asynchronous consultation will remain open for 90 days, which ensures that anyone interested in contributing value to the policy document can do so, up to and including December 5, through the Virtual Platform for Public Consultation Processes.
