Public Consultations with Civil Society: Guidelines for Public and Private Executing Agencies

This publication is a strategic tool that aims at supporting both the Public and Private Sector in achieving a better engagement with the civil society in Latin American and the Caribbean as regards public consultations. It provides information about universal good practices, how to draw up public consultation plans and legal frameworks applicable in each of the 26 countries of Latin America and the Caribbean, where the IDB operates.

Public consultation is one of the most efficient points of contact between Government, Private Sector and Civil Society. This has truly become an opportunity to improve the potential of the sustainability of projects, while at the same time fostering social innovation and development.
